Privacy Policy

LeanLoop ("we", "us", "our") is a weight-loss companion app that helps you build daily habits through focus selection, reflection, and coaching. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.

The short version: We collect only what we need to make the app work. We never sell your data. You can delete your account and associated data at any time.

1. What We Collect

Account information

  • Email address and password if you create an account
  • Name, birthday, and biological sex provided during onboarding
  • Authentication tokens for sign-in

Health and wellness data

  • Height, current weight, and target weight
  • Daily check-ins: protein, water, movement, sleep, and weight
  • Daily focus selections and reflections: kept, partly, drifted
  • Drift reasons and readiness ratings
  • Activity level and dietary preferences

Personality data

  • Archetype quiz responses and result
  • Birthday-derived personality enrichment when available

Usage data

  • Streak and milestone progress
  • Feature activity needed to save focus selections, reflections, and check-ins
  • A device-generated identifier used for sign-in, guest access, and sync consistency

Purchase data

  • If LeanLoop offers paid subscriptions in your version of the app, we may receive subscription status and billing period information
  • We do not store payment card details. Payments are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • Personalize your experience: Your archetype, reflection history, and check-in data shape your daily focus recommendations, coach messages, and progress insights.
  • Track your progress: Weight trends, streak history, and adherence patterns are calculated to show how your habits are changing.
  • Improve the product: Aggregated, anonymized usage data helps us understand which features work and what to improve.
  • Manage subscriptions when offered: Entitlement status is used to unlock Premium features if paid features are available in your version of the app.

3. What We Never Do

  • We never sell your personal data or health data.
  • We never share your individual health data with advertisers.
  • We never use your health data for advertising targeting.
  • We never display ads in LeanLoop.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. Health and wellness data is associated with your user account or guest session and protected by authentication tokens. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.

Some data is also stored locally on your device, including streak state, preferences, quiz results, and cached app state so LeanLoop can recover gracefully.

5. Third-Party Services

The current free MVP app does not use third-party analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or subscription entitlement providers.

The LeanLoop public website may use Google Analytics to measure page visits, traffic sources, and basic site performance. Website analytics are used to understand whether legal, support, and marketing pages are reachable and useful. We do not use Google Analytics to target ads, personalize ads, or sell personal data.

If paid subscriptions are enabled in a future version, payment and subscription processing may involve Apple App Store, Google Play, and an entitlement provider such as RevenueCat. We will update this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures before enabling paid subscription flows.

6. Apple Health / Health Connect

LeanLoop does not read Apple Health or Health Connect data in the current free MVP. If health data import is enabled in a future version, we will request permission first, use that data only for the stated feature, and let you revoke permission from your device settings.

7. Your Rights

You can at any time:

  • Access your data. Your check-ins, reflections, and progress are visible in the app.
  • Request a copy of your data by contacting privacy@leanloop.life. In-app export is not included in the current free MVP.
  • Delete your account and associated data through Settings. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
  • Cancel your subscription if one is active through Apple App Store or Google Play settings.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, personal data and health data are permanently deleted within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated data that is not linked to you may be retained for product improvement.

9. Children's Privacy

LeanLoop is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Not Medical Advice

LeanLoop is a wellness companion, not a medical device. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Consult a healthcare professional before making significant changes to your diet or exercise routine, especially if you have a medical condition.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use of LeanLoop after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
